Workshops

We love to spread the word and show the benefits of nosework. When you see the changes in the dogs, you will be blown away! We offer a variety of workshops catering for all levels of interest from introductory to competition. Our past workshops have included Nosework Taster Classes for rescue groups and dog events, and workshops instructed by highly skilled and experienced dog detection and nosework professionals from all over the globe. Some of our past workshops are noted below, we will be offering these again in the future, as well new ones in the future.

NOSEWORK FOUNDATIONS WORKSHOP 1

$160 – Working Registration
$100 – Auditing Registration
Full Day

Instructed by professional detection dog handler, K9 Nose Work instructor and Judge, Michael Sikalas.

The workshop addresses topics including: play rewards and motivation, odour theory, final responses, search strategies and handler skills. Designed for teams competing in nosework, considering competing in nosework, or just keen to learn more about nosework and scent detection from professional handlers.

Working place participants will have the opportunity to work on scenarios such as thresholds, blank searches and odour discrimination.

Introduction to K9 Nose Work®

$175 – 6 weeks

This course introduces you and your dog to the exciting new ‘box’ game. We start by getting your dog to search for their favourite food or toy in boxes; building confidence, independence, motivation to hunt. Each week will be build on the dog’s individual skills, introducing new elements (container searches, interior searches, exterior searches and vehicle searches) and difficulty as the dogs progress.

Intermediate K9 Nose Work® 

$120 – 4 weeks

We continue your nosework journey, working on a different element each week; containers, interiors, exteriors, vehicles. The aim is to further build confidence and complexity, preparing you and your dog for introduction to your first odour.
